In the industrial field, rubber sheets are widely used and not only need to have good oil resistance, but also excellent water resistance. Then, is the industrial oil-resistant rubber sheet water-resistant?

Oil-resistant rubber sheets are rubber sheets that meet the GB/T5574-1994 standard and have a volumetric expansion rate that can be controlled within the range of -5% to +40% under specific conditions. This material is usually used in environments where oil-containing substances may be present, such as the mechanical manufacturing and automotive repair industries.

However, today we will discuss whether these oil-resistant rubber sheets are also water-resistant. From the material point of view, most oil-resistant rubber has a tight molecular structure and also has certain water resistance characteristics. This means that when in contact with water, they will not easily undergo chemical reactions or physical deformation. Industrial oil-resistant rubber sheets generally do show good water resistance in most cases, but this does not mean that all oil-resistant rubber sheets can be used in aquatic environments without any conditions.

Of course, the water resistance of a rubber sheet also depends on its hardness. Generally speaking, the higher the hardness of the rubber sheet, the stronger its water resistance. This is because a harder rubber is harder to penetrate by water and thus protects the internal structure from being damaged.
