The maximum temperature range that nitrile rubber can tolerate is generally between -40°C and +120°C, but it can withstand temperatures as high as 150°C for short periods. However, its normal operating temperature is usually between 80-100°C. Beyond this range, its elasticity and tensile strength will decrease, and its fatigue life will also be shortened.
I. Nitrile Rubber and Its High-Temperature Performance
Nitrile rubber, as a widely used synthetic rubber, is renowned for its excellent oil resistance and high-temperature resistance. However, any material will undergo performance changes in high-temperature environments, and nitrile rubber is no exception. Understanding its performance at high temperatures is crucial for correct usage and selection of suitable rubber materials.
II. Normal Operating Temperature of Nitrile Rubber
According to professional data and experimental results, the normal operating temperature range of nitrile rubber is between 80-100°C. Within this temperature range, nitrile rubber can maintain good elasticity and tensile strength, meeting the requirements of most application scenarios. However, when the temperature exceeds this range, the properties of nitrile rubber will change.

III. Impact of High Temperature on Nitrile Rubber Properties
In high-temperature environments, the elasticity and tensile strength of nitrile rubber will decrease. This means that nitrile rubber products may become stiffer and lose their original flexibility under high-temperature conditions. Additionally, high temperatures will shorten the fatigue life of nitrile rubber and accelerate its aging process. Therefore, when using nitrile rubber products in high-temperature environments, special attention should be paid to their performance changes to ensure safety and reliability.
IV. High-Temperature Limit of Nitrile Rubber
Although the normal operating temperature of nitrile rubber is between 80-100°C, its maximum temperature range that it can withstand is actually higher. Generally, nitrile rubber can be used within the temperature range of -40°C to +120°C. Moreover, it can even withstand temperatures as high as 150°C for short periods. However, prolonged exposure to high temperatures can still cause damage to nitrile rubber, so caution should be exercised in practical applications.
