In this era of rapid technological advancement, new materials are constantly emerging, and butyl rubber sheets are particularly noteworthy due to their unique advantages. So,what are the eye-catching characteristics of butyl rubber sheets?

1.What is butyl rubber sheet?
Butyl rubber, also known as isobutylene-isoprene rubber,is a synthetic rubber material made from isobutylene and a small amount of isoprene.
This material has many distinct physical and chemical properties that make it excel in many application areas. The density of butyl rubber sheet is relatively low,and it has almost no odor and is not soluble in water but can dissolve in certain organic solvents such as hexane and chloroform, which make it excel in environmental protection and safety.

2.Advantages of butyl rubber

2.1 Low permeability and excellent airtightness

The air permeability of butyl rubber is only 1/7 that of natural rubber, making it the preferred material for manufacturing tire inner tubes and other products that require good airtightness.

2.2 Good chemical resistance and heat aging resistance

2.3 Electrical insulation

Its dielectric constant is only 2.1,and its resistance rate is above 1016Ω*m,far exceeding general rubber materials, which makes it shine in the field of electrical insulation.

2.4 Vibration damping and noise reduction

2.5 Flexibility

Butyl rubber can also maintain flexibility at low temperatures, and will not lose its elasticity due to crystallization, which is particularly important for applications in cold regions.
