Silicone rubber sheets, as a high-performance industrial rubber material, play an indispensable role in multiple fields. Their unique physical and chemical properties make them one of the key materials in the food, mechanical, electronic and electrical, and automotive industries. This article will start from the hardness of silicone rubber sheets, delve into their characteristics, application areas, and future development trends, providing readers with a comprehensive and precise understanding.
硅橡胶板的硬度范围及其意义
The hardness of silicone rubber sheets typically ranges from 20 to 80 degrees. This hardness range endows silicone rubber sheets with good flexibility and elasticity. Higher hardness indicates better compressive resistance and wear resistance, making it suitable for applications requiring higher mechanical strength; while lower hardness provides greater flexibility and elasticity, making it suitable for sealing and buffering applications. This adjustable hardness range enables silicone rubber sheets to meet the specific needs of different industrial fields.
物理和化学特性
In addition to hardness, silicone rubber also possesses many other remarkable physical and chemical properties. For instance, it has excellent high-temperature resistance, capable of withstanding temperatures between 180 and 240 degrees without undergoing physical property changes. It also has excellent low-temperature resistance, maintaining good elasticity and toughness even at -60 degrees. These properties make silicone rubber sheets the preferred material for manufacturing high-temperature gaskets and seals.
In terms of chemical properties, silicone rubber exhibits outstanding corrosion resistance and stability. It shows high resistance to most acids, bases, and salts, and is non-toxic and odorless, making it friendly to both humans and the environment. Moreover, silicone rubber has a relatively high transparency and good optical properties, which makes it widely used in the electronics industry, such as for display screen protective films.

Electrical properties and biocompatibility
Silicone rubber also has good electrical insulation properties, flame retardancy, and arc resistance, maintaining stability in high-voltage and high-current environments. This is particularly important in the electronics industry, as silicone rubber can be used as an insulating material to enhance the safety and reliability of equipment.
In the medical field, silicone rubber is widely used due to its excellent biocompatibility. It can be made into various medical products, such as surgical gloves and artificial blood vessels. The stability and non-toxicity of silicone rubber ensure its safety and comfort when used inside the human body.
扩展的应用领域
With the advancement of technology and the development of materials science, the application range of silicone rubber sheets is continuously expanding.
In the fields of kitchenware design, electronic product design, and home appliance design, silicone rubber is widely used in innovative designs and product improvements due to its easy moldability, good colorability, and excellent acid and alkali resistance. For example, in kitchenware, silicone rubber is used to make heat-resistant gloves and baking molds, which are popular among consumers for their safety and durability.
In the electronics industry, silicone rubber is not only used as a heat dissipation material but also as a conductive agent and adhesive to improve the performance and reliability of devices.
Furthermore, the automotive industry is exploring the use of silicone rubber’s weather resistance and wear resistance in the manufacturing of interior and exterior vehicle parts.
